Psoriasis It is easy to control the disease with timely treatment and a healthy lifestyle

Psoriasis is a common but very painful skin disease. It is called psoriasis in English. It usually appears in areas of the body with high temperature. In this disease, inflammation occurs at some point on the skin and forms a red, shiny, scaly rash, and the skin becomes rough at that place.

The affected area is intensely itchy. When scratched, these scales fall off. These scales are like fish skin. When this disease begins, red-pink spots form on the affected area, on which a layer of scales forms. These scales clear up when scratched, but reappear after some time. If proper treatment is not given, this inflammation increases and takes over other parts of the body.

This is a very stubborn disease, it does not go away easily and is also painful. It has been observed that this disease affects the elbows, arms, knees, legs, scalp and back. In Greek medicine, it is called psoriasis, while it is also called eczema. Thus, people of all ages can suffer from it, but this disease is mostly found in people between the ages of 25 and 40.

The rate of this disease is high in Japan worldwide. Accurate data is not available in Pakistan, however, according to a conservative estimate, 5 percent of people suffer from psoriasis.
There are several types of psoriasis, one of which is common in children, especially young girls. In this type, the disease occurs after a sore throat. Initially, raindrop-shaped circles form on the back and chest.

In this way, it appears on the lower chest and thighs in some people, however, the common type is the formation of thin, silver-like scales. The affected area itches and the scales fall off. Some people have severe itching and some have less. Patients who do not get treatment, their body is affected and many medical problems arise. These include dryness, scabbing and itching in the head.

As a result of the appearance of these symptoms, hair starts falling. Due to the occurrence of psoriasis, calcium and mineral deficiency also occurs in the body.
It is also considered hereditary. However, according to Unani medicine, it is caused by the accumulation of waste products. When the body is unable to excrete waste products, they accumulate in the body and cause this disease, which later manifests as psoriasis.

Apart from this, symptoms such as digestive disorders, being sloppy, constipation, alcohol consumption, emotional stress and mental depression also appear. According to modern theories (medical science), improper functioning of the liver, improper digestion of vitamins, toxic substances produced by bacteria and excessive consumption of animal fat can also be the causes.

This disease is diagnosed by its external factors, but a modern method of diagnosis is also biopsy.

According to medical science, the upper layer of the skin is formed every 28 days and the old skin is shed, but psoriasis develops on the skin in just seven days, on which the scales form a layer and stick. This is because the volume of the affected skin increases rapidly and the blood vessels also provide a large amount of blood. Therefore, the skin color in the affected area becomes reddish and blood spots appear when the scales fall off.

This is a treatable disease, but since in this disease the body’s immune system causes the body’s own weakness, it is extremely important to stop the speed of cell formation in the body. To prevent psoriasis from progressing, care should be taken of the oil used in the diet. The use of fish oil is beneficial. Do not eat meat, instead, eat more vegetables.

Zinc is useful in inflammation. Apart from this, bitter gourd, camel katara and ishba are also beneficial. Be careful in using sugar. Avoid alcohol. This is not a contagious disease at all. That is, it is not transmitted from one person to another, however, in view of the principles of hygiene, the patient’s towel, comb, soap and clothes should be kept separate.

The patient should bathe daily and wear cotton clothes, while the diet should include honey, milk, fruits, vegetables, lassi and salads in abundance. Avoid fast foods, junk foods, cold drinks and hot spices. One recipe proves to be very effective in the treatment of psoriasis, which is being listed below. It is better to contact a qualified doctor or dermatologist, so that treatment can be done according to the type and symptoms of psoriasis.
