Take care of your hands
Washing your hands frequently protects them from germs and protects people from many diseases
Dr. Muhammad Farhat Abbas
Every individual should take special care of their hands, so that they can not only maintain their own health, but also protect others from diseases. On Hand Hygiene Day, WHO encourages health-care workers, patients and the general public to promote and practice good hand hygiene habits to prevent the spread of infection.
These include washing hands regularly, using alcohol-based hand sanitizers, avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands, and covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing.
It is also impossible to deny the fact that people who do not take care of the cleanliness of their homes and their bodies are a breeding ground for inflammatory diseases.
There are some important points that need to be aware of. For example, do not touch food and drink items without washing your hands. Do not touch children, the elderly and the sick without washing your hands. Children, the sick and the elderly are more susceptible to diseases and infections due to the use of dirty and unhealthy hands. Do not forget to wash your hands after eating. Use quality soap or liquid to clean your hands regularly.
If water and soap are not available, use quality hand sanitizer. Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unclean hands.
Talking about hand hygiene, it is a scientific fact that washing your hands frequently protects them from germs and protects a person from many diseases. Many people are stingy when it comes to washing their hands and nominally call it washing by wetting their hands.
It should be remembered that this method proves to be extremely dangerous in a pandemic situation. According to experts, washing hands thoroughly with soap reduces the risk of diarrhea by 30 to 50 percent. Germs mostly enter the human body during food and drink, while hand, foot and mouth disease, skin infections, hepatitis A, and stomach diseases can also target us due to the habit of not washing hands.
